In 2019, HNZ announced a movement away from National u13 (Hatch Cup/Collier Trophy) and u15 tournaments in support of Sport NZ’s ‘Balance is Better Philosophy’. The idea is to keep our young ones active for longer by offering quality experiences for all regardless of ability.
A variety of opportunities are offered for our younger age groups through varying formats of the game within our Northern Region Associations (Northland, North Harbour, Auckland, Waikato, Thames Valley, Tauranga and Bay of Plenty) with Under 16’s being the first identification opportunity at the National level.
